Some of you may be aware of the recent and unthinkable loss of the Conservancy’s board president, John Conte.
John was a visionary designer, a professional who generously shared his skill and great depth of knowledge. Despite running a prestigious landscape architecture firm and having a family and a full life with many interests and volunteer leadership roles, John welcomed the opportunity to lead the Tree Conservancy because he was passionate about protecting mature trees and educating others to the importance of trees to our community’s health and beauty. A licensed arborist, John understood the science of trees, admired the beauty of trees and knew the emotions trees evoke in us.
