March Events: Winter Walk & Maple Sugaring Day

Join us for the first two events of our 10th year celebration in partnership with the GLT:

Winter Walk: The Sugar Bush, Wednesday, March 8, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm $5
In partnership with the Greenwich Land Trust, enjoy a guided walk through Greenwich Land Trust’s Duck Pond Hill Preserve (across from 18 Burning Tree Road). Take a tour of the American Chestnut Sanctuary (which the GTC co-planted), and end with a maple tapping demonstration. Conditions: medium intensity over uneven terrain. Please RSVP to sophie@gltrust.org, payment will be accepted at the walk.

Maple Sugaring Day, March 11, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm $30
In partnership with the Greenwich Land Trust enjoy an afternoon of demonstrations on maple tapping and syrup boiling – learn what goes into making the sweet stuff! The process of maple tapping is indigenous to our northern forests and an important part of our local history. Lots of activities will be available for the whole family. Rain Date: Sunday, March 12.
